New Orleans Hop-On Hop-Off tour is designed for Fun, Convenience, and Value. Enjoy maximum flexibility with the Hop-On Hop-Off Service – Tour at your own pace – Many Stops on the route to discover!

HOP-ON to tour and experience New Orleans from new heights! The views from the Top-Deck are unbeatable, and while aboard, learn about 300 years of New Orleans History, Architecture, and Culture. HOP-OFF to Explore in the city’s most famous neighborhoods – the French Quarter, Arts District, Garden District, Treme, Marigny, and more! After seeing the sights, Hop-Off to visit any of New Orleans most popular attractions.

No scheduling required. Many Double-Decker vehicles follow the same City Tour route and service all stops throughout the day. Hop-On to Join the tour at any time.

The Narrated City Tour is 1-hour 30-minutes IF you do not Hop-Off at any of the stops. The Tour makes multiple stops, so patrons can Hop-Off to explore and spend as long as desired visiting New Orleans fine attractions. Check out Basin St. Station Visitor Center (Stop 5) for pristine visitor restrooms, coffee bar & refreshments, or additional hotel, restaurant, or attraction information.

Hop-On Hop-Off tour buses operate from 9:30am to 5:30pm, 7-Days a week. First Service at each stop will be between 9:30am and 10:00am. Board by 4:00pm from Any Stop for Full Loop tour.

Tour service closes at 5:30pm – You should board around 4:00pm if wanting to return to a particular stop.

Yes, sometimes we must close! We are open most holidays except Mardi Gras Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Yes, on about 6 days each year, city-wide street closures impact our route, and we are unable to operate any tours. These dates will be identified in the Date Selection Tool with an explanation.

You will Select a Tour Date for your Hop-On Hop-Off Tour Tickets, and a Tour Type – 1-day, 2-day, or 3-day!

Arrive on your Tour Date to Hop-On and redeem your ticket! The validity period of 24, 48, or 72 hours begins then.

1 Day tickets are valid for 24 hours from time of printing. For example, if you first board at 12noon today, your ticket will be valid thru to 12noon tomorrow!

2-Day Packages = 48 hours from time of printing. For example, if you receive your timestamped ticket at 12noon today, it will be valid thru to 12noon on the day after tomorrow!

3-Day Packages = 72 hours from time of printing. For example, if you receive your timestamped ticket at 12noon today, it will be valid thru to 12noon, on the third day!

After your online purchase, you will have the opportunity to download a Voucher and a copy, along with a receipt, will be emailed to you.

Hop-On any bus and show your confirmation to any City Sightseeing bus operator or sales agent to collect your timestamped tickets.

Basin St. Station (Stop 5, 501 Basin Street)

Purchase your tickets and start your tour at Basin St. Station Visitor Center – our ticket desk is open from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Jackson Square Ticket Office, 700 Decatur St.

Our ticket desk is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Hop-On ANY Bus at ANY Stop

Bus operators will request to see your ticket. Let them know your need to purchase with the next available sales agent, located at a few stops along the route.

No Worries! If you make a mistake with your booking, and you need to modify the date, number of people, or booking, you can reach out to us directly, or you can visit the Manage My Booking area of the website. Changes are not allowed within 24 hours of the valid date.

No, the Double-Deckers do not have restrooms on board. We make frequent stops and the next bus is less than 30 minutes away. Exquisite Restrooms are open to the public at Basin St. Station Visitor Center, located at Stop 5 (501 Basin Street). Public Restrooms are also open in the French Market, Jackson Square, and of course, there are businesses all along the route.

Attractions admissions along the route are not included in the price of the CSS tickets, unless specified. Various attractions packages are available separately.

Seating is available on a first-come first-serve basis. We do increase our capacity on peak days to accommodate increased ridership, although seating cannot be guaranteed for any specific departure.
All passengers must remain seated when any City Sightseeing vehicle is in motion – standing and walking is prohibited.
All double-decker vehicles are handicapped accessible, with electronic ramps as well as 1 or more securement locations on the lower-deck. Look for the internationally recognized Wheelchair Accessible sticker on the front of the bus and near the entrance door. Guests are welcome to contact City Sightseeing New Orleans from the stop to inquire about accessibility on the next bus: 1-800-362-1811.
The most convenient parking is available at Stop 5 – Basin St. Station Visitor’s Center located at 501 Basin St. Approximately $10 for all day parking. Rates are subject to change during special events.

From Slidell – I-10 West toward New Orleans

From Baton Rouge – I-10 East toward New Orleans

From the Westbank – US90 BUS E to I-10 East

  1. Take I-10 Exit 235A (Vieux Carre / Orleans Avenue)
  2. Merge onto Basin St. / Orleans Ave. toward Vieux Carre
  3. Follow Basin St. around the sharp right curve
  4. Basin St. Station Visitor Center is on the right

We are unable to provide a hotel pick-up for our Hop-On Hop-Off tours but many of our stops are in close proximity to major hotels in the French Quarter, Faubourg Treme, Central Business District, and Garden District.

Sorry that pets (other than service animals) are not allowed on any CSS vehicles.

Sorry that food is not allowed on the bus. Non-Alcoholic beverages are allowed as long as they are in a container with a lid. No glass of any kind is allowed on the bus.

Sightseeing buses do not have space for storage of any personal items. Bring only items that can easily be stored under your seat.

Please take all items with you when you Hop-Off. CSS is not liable for damage to or loss of personal property (cameras, bags, purses, etc.) on the vehicles.

Items retrieved from vehicles will be retained in Lost and Found for 30 days. Contact us at 1-800-362-1811 to report any lost items.
